Emmanuel Church
The name “Emmanuel” means God with us—a powerful reminder of the divine presence in our lives. Inspired by Isaiah 7:14, we believe in the promise fulfilled through Jesus Christ:
Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Emmanuel.”
This Scripture forms the foundation of our identity as a church. It is not only a name—it is a calling.

Pastor Sheeba Dawood
I am the daughter of a Muslim father and the granddaughter of a Christian pastor—two deeply rooted legacies that shaped my spiritual identity in very different ways. Growing up, I often found myself navigating between these worlds, never fully anchored in either. It wasn’t until I came to the United States to pursue a Ph.D. in Nanoscience at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro that my faith journey took a transformative turn. In the midst of rigorous academic work and the loneliness that often comes with international study, I found myself craving fellowship—a deeper connection, not just with people, but with purpose. In that season of searching, I lost my past, but found Jesus again. It wasn’t dramatic; it was quiet, personal, and undeniable. I experienced His grace, and I surrendered my life fully to serve God. This surrender led me to accept a pastoral calling—a divine invitation I could not ignore. Today, I serve as a pastor at Emmanuel Church, where I teach, lead, and walk alongside others in their own journeys of faith. I have a deep burden to help people understand the Scriptures, because I believe the Word of God is not just a book—it’s the foundation of the Christian life. Scripture transforms, renews, and anchors us, especially in a world that’s constantly shifting. At the same time, I am also the co-founder and CEO of Minerva Lithium, a technology company committed to building sustainable solutions for the critical minerals supply chain. To some, science and faith may seem at odds, but I see them as deeply intertwined. Both require wonder, discovery, and trust in what is unseen before it becomes real. I believe God placed me in both the lab and the pulpit to serve in unique ways—and I embrace both callings with gratitude and humility.
My life’s mission is simple: to serve God, love people, and lead with integrity—whether in church or in the world.
